About Bill Umansky
Bill “The Lawman” Umansky is a Florida attorney with over thirty years of experience helping clients who have been injured by others’ negligence or charged with crimes, driven by his own early-life experiences of hardship, trauma, and powerlessness. Growing up in a broken home, he struggled with authority, experimented with drugs and alcohol, and was expelled from multiple schools until mentors—and later, faith—showed him that he could reclaim control of his life and offer that same “second chance” to others. This calling led him to pursue law, graduating cum laude from the University of South Florida, earning his law degree from the University of Florida, and excelling in trial advocacy, negotiation, and mediation. After trying more than a hundred cases as a prosecutor and later working at prominent injury firms, he founded The Umansky Law Firm in 1999, now a leading practice handling personal injury and criminal defense cases across Florida. Bill has been featured in major national media outlets, authored several books—including the Amazon best-seller Tiger Tactics—and hosts the podcast The Lawman’s Lounge. Deeply committed to community service, he has served on numerous boards, founded the Second Chance of Florida education foundation, and continues to champion his belief that “Everyone Deserves a Second Chance,” alongside his wife Zahra and their two sons.
